Scientific evidence of crystal therapy

10TH/JAN/2023

Crystal therapy, also known as crystal healing, is an alternative therapy that involves the use of crystals and gemstones to promote healing and well-being. The theory behind this therapy is that crystals and gemstones have unique vibrations and energy patterns that can help to balance the body's energy fields, reduce stress and tension, and promote physical and emotional healing.

While some people believe in the healing powers of crystals, the scientific evidence for the effectiveness of crystal therapy is limited. Most of the research on crystal therapy has been anecdotal or based on small-scale studies, and the majority of the scientific studies on the topic have found no evidence to support the claims made by crystal therapists.

One study of crystal healing, a randomized double-blinded placebo-controlled trial, reported no effect of healing when crystal was used to treat chronic pain.

Additionally, there is a lack of scientific understanding about how crystals and gemstones may be able to promote healing, or what specific mechanisms might be involved in their supposed healing effects.

It is important to note that crystal therapy should not be used as a substitute for conventional medical treatment and it's always a good idea to consult with your healthcare professional for any physical or emotional symptoms you may have.

It's possible that people may find some benefits from crystal therapy such as feeling more relaxed, calm or comforted as a result of using them; but these benefits are more likely to be related to a placebo effect or the psychological effects of mindfulness and meditation rather than any direct healing properties of the crystals themselves.
